Natgen Foundation

Natgen Foundation has been formed by the directors of Natgen as the philanthropic arm of the business. When starting Natgen, we made an early decision to institute a giving program as part of our operations.

Early on, we provided direct donations to charitable causes linked to mental health and health research. More recently, the Natgen Foundation has been instituted to provide a vehicle whereby the Natgen Group and our investors can be involved in an independent philanthropic enterprise and to curate the giving to causes which are important to us and the community in general.

The Natgen Foundation is a Public Ancillary Fund and holds Deductible Gift Recipient status. As such, any donations made to the Natgen Foundation attract a tax deduction for the donor.

The corporate trustee of the Natgen Foundation is Sovereign Associates Pty Ltd. The Board of Sovereign Associates consist of the following:

Mrs Lesley Matthews – Chair

Lesley is a solicitor of long standing, who has a long history of philanthropic practice. Lesley provides the Natgen Foundation with specific experience in charitable giving, selection criteria analysis and decision-making.

Steven Goakes – Director, Natgen Group

Brett Nelson – Director, Natgen Group

For 2023, Natgen Foundation has chosen the Legacy – Bring it Home Campaign as the major recipient of charitable contributions from the Foundation.

Steven Goakes serves as Chair of the Campaign Cabinet which is currently raising $8 million for the construction of a new Legacy House at Greenslopes Hospital in Brisbane. The new Legacy House will be a focal point for the provision of Legacy Services in Southeast Queensland and beyond, as it institutes a new and innovative program for the delivery of its wrap-around services for the families of our war veterans, many of whom have returned home with significant injuries – both physical and mental – derived through their service to our country.

The directors of Natgen Foundation see the support of veterans’ families as a community responsibility. By supporting the programs of Legacy through the new Legacy House, we can show our gratitude and tangible support for the families who have lost loved ones or care for those impacted by their service to our country.

We invite you to join us in supporting our major charitable gift recipient. As a donor to the Natgen Foundation, your donation is not diluted by fees and costs – all the fees and costs of the Natgen Foundation are covered by Natgen Group and the income of the Foundation. The capital base of the Foundation remains intact and 100% available for charitable giving.

Please consider Natgen Foundation when choosing your philanthropic recipients.
