Priority Development Areas (PDAs) are designated by the Queensland Government to fasttrack urban growth in key regions, streamlining planning and coordinating housing, infrastructure, and services through tailored statutory frameworks rather than the standard local council process.
In the Logan City region, two major PDAs are emerging as future urban hubs:
- Yarrabilba PDA is already home to around 12,690 residents1 and is planned to grow to about 50,000 residents in some 20,000 dwellings over the coming decades.
- Greater Flagstone PDA still in early development, currently has around 8,000 residents but is projected to expand to 120,000 residents across 50,000 dwellings within 30–40 years.
Together, Yarrabilba and Greater Flagstone are set to transform into high-growth communities, ultimately accommodating around 170,000 people and cementing Logan City as one of Australia’s top ten growth regions.
